Produced in Tavel, the heart of the Rhône Valley’s rosé production, this Côtes du Rhône rosé is crafted from 30+ year old vineyards planted in soils rich with calcareous sandstone and positioned on gently undulating slopes for optimal sun exposure. Hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted once they arrive in the cellar, and then undergo direct pressing in a pneumatic press for three hours. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled tanks at a low temperature to maintain its freshness.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was characterized by a dry winter with moderate temperatures, meaning budburst was quite early. The cold snap at the beginning of April did not severely impact the estate, and frost was not as serious as expected thanks to the proximity of the Rhône River. A rainy spring followed by a dry summer allowed berries to reach optimal maturity without any issues. Harvest began a bit later than previous years. Overall, the harvest was of good quality and normal quantity, anticipating balanced wines with good natural acidity.
Tasting Note
Pale pink with purple hints, this rosé has aromas of strawberry and redcurrant with floral notes of peony. On the palate, the wine is balanced with intense fruity notes of strawberry, grapefruit, and zesty tangerine.
Food Pairing
Tuna tartare, grilled fish, Mediterranean salads

About the Grape

Cinsaut
Ripe and meaty over elegant, with rose and almond notes, Cinsault’s relatively low tannins typically relegate it to blends with other varieties, as with Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel Rosé.
Grenache
Grenache is loaded with dense, lusty aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, jam, pepper and licorice, with a palate-coating texture and high alcohol.
Mourvèdre
Mourvèdre makes big, meaty, rustic wines high in alcohol, acidity and tannin, with moderate black fruit characters. Shows aromas and flavors of wild Provençal herbs, leather, mushrooms and barnyard.
Grenache Blanc
This grape can produce an attractive, fleshy, generously fruity wine with a fragrance of flowers and dill.
