Orvieto Classico is a historic and locally important wine; this blend represents the most important white wine appellation of the Umbria region. The Salviano estate, which had been owned by the Principe Corsini since the 17th Century, has been producing Orvieto Classico blend for centuries and it was mostly delivered to Vatican and used family consumption since the 1700's. Today the property is managed by Il Marchese Incisa della Rocchetta who is the grandson of Principe Tomasso Corsini and Mario Incisa della Rocchetta; Giovanni together with his wife Tara, is carrying on the production of this wine as an ancient family tradition, respecting the same ancient blend made of only local varieties as grechetto, verdello and procanico.
