This is Maison Louis Jadot's first project in Oregon. This signature estate Pinot Noir is a pure expression of the dry-farmed Résonance Vineyard, planted on un-grafted rootstock in 1981. These Pinot Noir grapes were handpicked just steps from the Winery and hand-sorted upon arrival. During elevage, the juice is controlled with a light touch honed over 170 years of winemaking in Burgundy, boosting each vintage to achieve its most natural elegance and complexity. Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir unveils the immense character, the “somewhereness” of this original site, within the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.

Harvest Note
2015 was a fantastic year for Pinot Noir. Everything, beginning with bud break, started early, and with a solid Spring and Summer, most grapes were close to perfect condition for picking. Harvest started on September 8th and ended on the 13th. Overall, the 2015 vintage is wonderful, with bright colors across the board with balance and harmony on the nose and palate.
Tasting Note
Deep and intense garnet color. The nose is elegant and delicate, with a lot of black fruit, delicate spices, and a touch of fine oak. The palate is supple, full-bodied, and particularly well-balanced. The Résonance Vineyard terroir imparts its signature minerality and tannic structure, an effect known as “polished tannins.” The aromatic concentration is remarkable, with black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry aromas. The finish is very long, harmonious, and fresh.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with grilled or roasted red meats, game and poultry.

About the Grape

Pinot Noir
In France, makes a silky, deceptively powerful wine of elegant, complex aromas and subtle, red fruit flavors, with earthy, floral, mushroom and mineral notes. In California, shows ripe, sweet characters.
