Inspired by Champagne Taittinger’s Comtes de Champagne, yet its own reflection of Carneros terroir, Domaine Carneros’ luxury tête-de-cuvée is crafted from five sustainably grown estate clones of Chardonnay. The wine is made using the traditional method of Champagne and is aged in bottle for five to six years sur lie before release.

Harvest Note
2015 started with an early bud break, and continued to an early harvest, the second earliest in the history of Domaine Carneros, on July 31st. The light yields of this vintage resulted in a concentration of flavors and complexity in the fruit.
Tasting Note
On the nose, our classic Le Rêve captivates with lovely notes of ginger, crème brûlée, toasted coconut, and citrus zest. The palate opens up with pear, yuzu, brioche, and notes of a fresh baked lemon pie. This wine displays depth and purity that leads to a long, elegant finish. As with many great wines, our 2015 Le Rêve has been crafted to be long-lived and will continue to evolve for decades in the cellar. Delicious now, but there will be additional flavor benefits for those who can wait.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
