Meaning ""Discovery"" in French and produced from the second Estate Vineyard owned by Résonance, the Découverte Vineyard Pinot Noir displays the best of the Dundee Hills AVA. Elegant yet structured, the wine is complex on the nose and palate with classic Pinot Noir aromas and flavors and a long finish.
Harvest Note
The winter 2021-2022 was relatively warm until an April cold snap. The spring stayed cold and wet which was helpful as it delayed the growing season as the vines recovered. The summer provided ample warmth, with dry conditions, and a warm September, gave unique conditions for the ripening period. In Decouverte, the fruit was perfectly balanced between sugar concentration and acidity level. All vineyards were picked before the rain started. From the first days of maceration, the Pinot noir revealed expressive and fruity aromas, with amazing color and purity in mouth.
Tasting Note
With a beautiful ruby-red color and bright sheen, the wine evokes elegance. The nose is intense, with fresh fruity aromas, like strawberry, wild cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and subtle spices of licorice, white pepper and tobacco. The palate reveals a great freshness, with elegant but firm tannins, and a nice volume amplified by a fruity sensation. The final wine is synonymous with persistence.
