Harvest Note
January and February lacked in precipitation as compared to the average. March brought snow without any serious damage to the buds ready to open. Rainfall in June was above average for this time of year. Maximum temperatures reached 31 °C while minimum values did not drop below 12 °C. These weather conditions allowed regular development of the canopy and harmonious berry growth. July was mostly dry with only 5 mm of rain and reached high average temperatures. The attention and competence in the management of the canopy allowed to adequately protect the grape bunches and prevent potential damage. August experienced a decent amount of rainfall. The day-night temperature difference in September favored the synthesis of the noble substances inside and outside the berries.
Tasting Note
Intense, deep ruby red color with garnet highlights. Powerful and ample aromas characterized by fruity and balsamic, toasted and spiced notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, with present and dense tannins, great persistence and texture.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with meat, seasoned cheese, and game.
