Tenute Silvio Nardi’s classic Brunello is a blend of the finest grapes from the Manachiara and Casale del Bosco estates. Silvio Nardi follows the strict DOCG laws required of a classified Brunello di Montalcino. Yield is limited and only the top 70% of the hand harvested grapes is used to make the wine. The fruit is carefully handpicked and sorted. The wine is aged in two types of oak and in the bottle before release.
Harvest Note
The 2021 harvest was marked by a challenging yet ultimately rewarding growing season. A severe spring frost in early April reduced yields in many vineyards, naturally concentrating the remaining grapes, and the summer was warm and relatively dry with only brief heat spikes, helping to preserve freshness and aromatic integrity. Well-timed rains and warm, sunny days in September encouraged balanced phenolic ripening, leading to a healthy harvest of expressive, ripe Sangiovese from mid-September into October. As a result, the 2021 Brunellos are often described as elegant and structured, with vibrant acidity, pronounced tannins, and clear varietal fruit, reflecting a classic, terroir-driven style despite lower quantities than more abundant years.
Tasting Note
Intense ruby red with garnet highlights, offering complex aromas of ripe fruit, spice, and toast, with a smooth, full-bodied palate, dense velvety tannins, and long persistence.

AGING: Aged for 8 months in used French oak tonneaux (Allier), followed by 18 months in large oak barrels (Slavonia). Then bottle aged for at least 12 months.
