The Les Cassagnes vineyards in the Côtes du Rhône are located at altitudes up to 600 feet above sea level and feature multiple microclimates with soils of sand, clay, and calcareous rocks that provide natural filtration. Les Cassagnes means oak trees, referring to the green oak forest that surrounds the vineyards. The organic grapes are hand-harvested and sorted directly in the vineyard. The grapes are lightly crushed, and color and tannins are gently extracted with several daily pump overs of the tanks. Co-fermentation of the three varieties occurs over a long maceration of 3-4 weeks. The final blend is aged on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 12 months before bottling.

Harvest Note
The 2023 vintage began with a dry and windy winter with episodes of winds from the Mistral. Spring was wet with the rain providing the water needed for the growing period. Despite hot temperatures throughout the summer, water stress was not critical and there was no disease in the vineyards. The harvest began at the end of August after a final strong heatwave and ended at the beginning of October. The red grapes were generous, producing lovely balanced wines.
Tasting Note
Garnet red in color, this round and harmonious wine offers vibrant notes of red berries like cherry, menthol, and peppery touches. The tannins have a delicate texture and the finish is long and smooth.
Food Pairing
Grilled red meats, beef stew, vegetable lasagna, dark chocolate cake with cherries
