Pure Sangiovese from the vineyard of the same name, planted in 1935 by Duke Amedeo of Savoy-Aosta. A prestigious and elegant wine that represents the more historic side of Tenuta Sette Ponti, a testament to the estate’s rich past and of the elegance of the production of top wines. It is produced only in the best vintages, in limited edition and each bottle is numbered. This Sangiovese represents tradition and territory: soils rich in marl, long vinification in large oak barrels, no filtration, and bottle aging make for a wine destined to last over time, just as the vineyard has – a cru vineyard that made history, like the event that gave it its start.

Harvest Note
The inland Tuscan winter was quite cold, regularly rainy and often windy, facilitating winter operations of pruning the vineyards. Spring arrived as usual in late March, with warm temperatures slightly early, mitigated by cold returns. Vineyards budded slightly early, showing very early production rich in clusters and deep green leaves. The hot, breezy Tuscan summer was interspersed with a few rains, most useful for the vineyards, which enjoyed the balance shown so far. Once the summer heat passed brilliantly, September accompanied the ripening of the grapes to the harvest with an excellent result, the Sanigiovese expressed fruit, complexity and elegance at their best.

Sangiovese has aromas of black cherries with alluring wood, smoke, tar and herbal notes. The best wines made from this grape have incredible complexity, depth, finesse and power.
