A historic vineyard, Prieuré de Montézargues was originally a monastery dating from 1199. The vineyard is a single 84-acre parcel sheltered from the Mistral wind by the Montagne Noire mountain range. The original stone priory buildings blend seamlessly into the landscape. This micro-terroir is composed of sandy soils covered by ‘galets’ – large, well-worn stones carried down the Alps by glaciers during the last ice age. Grapes are hand-harvested early in the morning and carefully sorted. They undergo direct pressing in a pneumatic press for three hours. After fermentation at a low temperature, the wine is blended and aged on fine lees for four months in stainless steel vats.

Harvest Note
The 2025 vintage was of high quality. Hot and sunny days gave great concentration in the grapes while cool nights preserved the aromatics and acidity levels. Despite a heatwave all summer long, the yield was normal and there was no disease pressure. The harvest was fast which prevented any impact of an episode of strong rain in September. The rosé wines have a generous structure with remarkable vibrancy and freshness.
Tasting Note
A bright cherry pink, this Tavel rosé offers aromas of juicy red berries and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is generous, intense, and beautifully balanced with a long and elegant finish.

Seared tuna, grilled fish, eggplant dishes

About the Grape

Cinsaut
Ripe and meaty over elegant, with rose and almond notes, Cinsault’s relatively low tannins typically relegate it to blends with other varieties, as with Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel Rosé.
Clairette
Vinified carefully, Clairette produces a light, floral and fruity wine. Used in sparkling wine and in blends, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tavel Rosé, Côtes-du-Rhône and Lirac.
Grenache
Grenache is loaded with dense, lusty aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, jam, pepper and licorice, with a palate-coating texture and high alcohol.
Grenache Blanc
This grape can produce an attractive, fleshy, generously fruity wine with a fragrance of flowers and dill.
Syrah
Syrah has seductively dense, rich, chewy black berry aromas and flavors, with notes of tar, wood smoke, bacon, leather, chocolate, and sometimes violets. The tannins are firm yet elegant.
