Oreno was first created in 1999 by Dr. Antonio Moretti Cuseri, an avid winelover, who, during his frequent travels, was impressed by the elegance and finesse of Bordeaux grapes, so much so, that he decided to plant the varieties at his own estate. He grafted established vineyards with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, which adapt extremely well to the terroirs of Tuscany. The name Oreno comes from a stream that crosses the estate, precisely in an area rich in clay, where Sette Ponti's Merlot vines grow. The Cabernet grapes are planted to soils more suited to them, in vineyards that have a greater presence of pebbles, which ensure excellent drainage and self-regulate based on temperature and humidity. The perfect complement to the blend is Petit Verdot, traditionally used to add spicy notes and a more intense flavor. While the wine is inspired by Bordeaux blends, it has a strong Tuscan soul.

Harvest Note
The Tuscan winter was again mild with little rain, with cold peaks in February. With pruning finished, April saw a prolongation of low temperatures with heavy rains, causing the budding of the vines to be delayed until late May. The vegetative resumption was sharp and decisive, with plants growing in balance under the May sun. Flowering developed the first week of June, resulting in small fruit set, which shortly thereafter took shape, becoming clusters of the new production. The summer was hot and intense, only one rain in June, but the constant ventilation created the ideal microclimate for the grapes, which, after veraison and color change, reached maturity in September. Merlot experienced an intense season, quickly developing productive shoots, swelling berries and manifesting beautiful productivity, regulated through grape thinning. Each Merlot parcel expressed its personality, with remarkable peaks of quality. Finally, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, adapted well to the dry season, maturing ripe tannins and complex aromas.
Tasting Note
Ruby red with violet hues. Intense and broad aromatic baggage, where notes of succulent red fruits emerge and give way to spicy characters of licorice and roasted coffee. Powerful and structured, with velvety tannins in balance with a vibrant, crisp character. Finish of remarkable length and savoriness.
