Harvest Note
November and December consisted of average rainfall and temperatures. January and February followed with a lack in precipitation as compared to average. In March there were both rain and snowfalls for a total of 2.56 inches of precipitation. Germination occurred in concomitance with the snowfalls without, however, any serious damage to the buds ready to open. In April, average rainfall was around 1.97 inches. Rainfall in May totalled 2.05 inches of rain. Maximum temperatures reached 82.4°F, while minimum temperatures did not drop below 48.2°F. Therefore, flowering occurred between late May and early June without anomalies. June had more rainfall than average with a total of 6.06 inches of water. Maximum temperatures reached 87.8°F while minimum values did not drop below 53.6°F. These weather conditions allowed regular development of the canopy and harmonious berry growth. July was mostly dry. Maximum temperatures reached 96.8°F, while minimum values did not drop below 59°F. The high average temperatures caused some concern for heat burns, but the attention and competence in the management of the canopy allowed to adequately protect the grape bunches and prevent potential damage. In August there were heavy thunderstorms, which accounted for an overall rainfall of about 1.77 inches. Maximum temperatures settled around 95°F, while minimum values reached 55.4°F.
