The Clos de la Garenne is a walled vineyard near the top of the slope in Puligny-Montrachet, and contains a parcel of very old vines. Soils are stony and thin, and exposition is Southeast.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
This is a rather dense and concentrated white wine with earth and mossy aromas complimented by citrus zest and toasted hazelnut.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with grilled sea bass, poached lobster, or chicken in sauce.
