Harvest Note
The winter was mild and rainier than usual, feeding the underground water reserves, which are so precious during the summer. After pruning, the vines cry profusely, showing the exuberance of the season a few days later. The saplings of Feudo Maccari sprout, first the Grillo then the Nero d'Avola and in no time at all they reach the height of the post that supports them. Spring is very fast and June already has summer temperatures. Summer is the season that most symbolizes these territories, the wind cools the microclimate of the grapes in the tree. Healthy grapes predict an excellent result that comes with the September harvest. The maturities are excellent and clear, the phenolic maturation homogeneous, certainly a year of balance and elegance that enhances the native varieties
Tasting Note
Intense ruby red color with light scarlet hues. The wine initially presents itself with a bouquet of fresh berries such as blackberries and blackcurrants, which then leave space to the spiced nuances of black pepper and liquorice. In the mouth, the wine is soft, revealing perfectly balanced tannins. Fresh and balanced with a persistent and pleasantly fruity finish.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with fine meats, game and braised red meats.
