This flagship cuvée is a blend of the best parcels of the Fuissé amphitheater. The average age of these vines is 40 years, subsoils vary from granite, schist, sand, limestone, marl and clay. Vinification is done by parcel in both casks and tanks according to the nature of the musts. Aging is 10 months, partially in barrel, with the ultimate assemblage getting additional refinement in stainless steel tank for 7 months prior to bottling.
Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
Notes of jasmine, verbena and lime, and a mouthwatering palate with saline minerality, are lent structure by a long, fresh finish in the wines from this bright vintage.

Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
