The Château La Nerthe vineyards surround the estate, with plots of various soil types such as clay-limestone, sand-clay, and sandstone strewn with galets or large, rounded stones carried down from the Alps by glaciers during the last ice age. Hand-harvested grapes are partially destemmed and put into vats and tanks for a long maceration of 4 weeks. The wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of French oak foudre, truncated vats, and barrels before blending. Bottling takes place 6 months later.
