This is a Cru Beaujolais from historic terroirs within the appellation. The key factor influencing these wines are the decomposed pink granite subsoils which do not retain moisture and force the vines to struggle during the intense summer. Vines are trained on wire (not goblet or bush vines) and all harvests are done manually. Fermentation is with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled vats, and aging is in both tank and barrels.

Harvest Note
The 2022 vintage began with an early start in mild February followed by a stressful early April freeze. Thankfully little damage was done, and the growing season continued but with very warm and dry conditions, so much so that the harvest was very early and yields were significantly reduced.
Tasting Note
This wine exhibits complex aromas of mocha, bramble, black raspberry and sweet tobacco. The mouthfeel is generous and expansive and the finish lengthened by subtle acidity. Tannins are substantial yet fine and mellow with age.
