Roche Calcaire is essentially a "second wine" of the famed Clos Windsbuhl, with the same Calcaire (Limestone) subsoil influence but from younger vines and parcels selected out of the Grand Vin.

Harvest Note
The weather patterns were unusual yet resulted in a fine high-quality crop in most locations. The winter was extremely cold, and total rainfall for January through July was more than twice the normal amount. This replenished the soil moisture while the vines growth cycle was largely undisturbed. The summer months brought more stable, warm and dry conditions. Harvest proceeded over a two-month period, which allowed a precise approach to each terroir.
Tasting Note
Typical pinot gris opulence tempered by limestone (calcaire) architecture on the palate. This is medium-bodied and fairly dry, with notes of ripe citrus fruit, damp earth and tangy acidity.
Food Pairing
Quite versatile and pairs well with seafood as well as white meats, curries, roasted vegetables or sausages & cured meats.
