Based in the northern part of Fuissé, just on the borders of the hamlet of Pouilly, the « Tournant de Pouilly » is a vineyard of one hectare in area within the Premier Cru of Les Reisses. It is split between two parcels, planted on a gentle slope that faces north-east. The vines from this parcel are, on average, a little bit older than 60 years old, one of the oldest vineyards owned by the Domaine.
Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
This site produces one of the most subtle yet powerful expressions of the region. With a nearly pure limestone subsoil this wine is slightly reductive and quite discreet upon release. After time open, or better some years in the cellar, the expression is dramatic with pungent notes of lemon oil, exotic spice and a saline note which extends the long finish.

AGING: Fermentations and ageing take place in casks: 25% of new cask, 75% of cask from 1 to 3 wines for 10 months. The ageing continued in stainless steel tanks, always with all their lees for another 9 months.

Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
