The Nivole vineyards are found in the hills surrounding Canelli in Piedmont, an ideal microclimate for growing Moscato. The hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed in a pneumatic press. The must is frozen until needed to ensure the freshness of the wine, when it is warmed up and fermented to a low level of alcohol using natural yeasts. A natural mild effervescence develops during this process. Unfermented Moscato grape must is then added to fine tune the sugar levels. The wine is bottled immediately to preserve the fruit aromas. The result is an aromatic Moscato with such delicate finesse that Michele Chiarlo named it Nivole after the Piedmontese word for clouds.

Harvest Note
The growing season began with early and even budbreak. The preceding winter was mild but rainy and followed by an equally wet spring which helped build strong water reserves – critical for facing the long, hot summer that followed. The final ripening phase in August was dry and marked by good sunlight and significant diurnal shifts. These conditions allowed for a meticulous harvest, with each vineyard picked at precisely the right stage of sugar maturity. The vintage maintained ideal freshness, supported by bright acidity and excellent aromatic development – both critical for Moscato.
Tasting Note
A brilliant straw yellow, this fragrant Moscato d’Asti has floral aromas with notes of peach and apricot. It is creamy with fine bubbles and a crisp finish.
Food Pairing
An excellent companion to fresh pastries and fruit such as strawberries and peaches
