The label of Guidalberto depicts the Oratory of San Guido, and the wine is named after the family ancestor Guidalberto della Gherardesca, an agricultural pioneer in the Bolgheri area. It was in the first decades of the 1800’s when he built the first factories, and churches, and planned the avenue of cypress trees, the Viale dei Cipressi. These trees were initially used to mark the boundaries between the different crops. Guidalberto is from the producers of the legendary Sassicaia, with a more approachable drinkability and a great aging potential. It is a great expression of the Tenuta San Guido territory.

Harvest Note
The 2024 vintage began with a cold, rainy autumn and a mild, dry winter, allowing earlier heat accumulation than in 2023. Late February–March rains replenished soil moisture and supported steady vegetative growth. A warm April led to early, uniform budbreak, briefly slowed by cooler weather without frost damage. Ideal conditions in May and June favored flowering and fruit set. Summer was warm, well ventilated, and marked by strong diurnal shifts, ensuring balanced ripening. Early veraison occurred in July; August heat and a mid-month front slowed phenolic development, requiring Merlot crop thinning, while Cabernet Sauvignon remained unaffected. Stable, sunny conditions from mid-September completed harmonious phenolic and technical ripeness, enhancing aromatic complexity.
Tasting Note
Vibrant ruby color with layered aromatics of fresh vegetal notes, cassis, bergamot, and wild berries. Elegant, fresh palate with integrated tannins, saline lift, sapid fruit, and a long, precise finish marked by finesse and immediate drinkability.
Food Pairing
Pair with Bolognese and other meat sauce pastas, grilled pork and beef, and roasts.
