Twenty-to 30-year-old vines are planted to south-facing vineyards 80 meters above sea level in volcanic soil with white sand and chalk deposits. The fruit is handpicked and the skins are gently broken. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks and lined vats with regular punching down. A first blending of lots takes place when the wine is placed in barrique; a second at the first racking. The wines are then bottled with minimum intervention.

Harvest Note
Vintage 2018 was characterized by a rainy spring which helped to refill the ground water. Summer days were very sunny with temperatures sometimes higher than usual. There were some sporadic rains which allowed the vines to work in the proper way. September had perfect weather condition with fresh nights and sunny but not too hot days. Vines enjoyed this excursion and grapes reached a perfect ripening. This balanced and regular weather trend was very important to guarantee the best territorial expression of every variety and to obtain wines of great elegance, beautiful acidity and longevity.
Tasting Note
Intense ruby red color. The bouquet exhibits a great balance between the floral notes where the orange peel is well integrated with spiced notes of Indian herbs. To the palate it is fresh, complex and persistent. The acidic components are significant and gives to the wine a long life in bottle.
