Situated in the center of the village of Fuissé, this Clos is just over 2 hectares planted on a shallow slope facing East. Soils are limestone marls, and the vines were planted in 1956. Vinification occurs in barrels (20% new) with maturation for 10 months, followed by an additional 9 months in stainless steel tanks.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
This wine is typified by a generous Fuissé opulence yet also with a subtle precision. Initially slightly reductive with earth and wood notes, there is also a fresh and creamy texture. Notes of fresh hazelnut and bergamot characterize it.
Food Pairing
Pair with all seafood cuisines, whether grilled, sauteed or raw. Also recommended with vegetables in butter or cream sauces.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
