Pinot Nero vineyards were planted in the 1990's upon decision of Donna Nerina. The altitude and the soil of the estate at Castello di Titignano were perfectly suitable for Pinot Nero grapes. So, after long experimentation with sparkling wine, in 2015 the winery decided to satisfy the market request of a Rosé still wine, and Tenuta di Salviano began to produce Pinot Nero Rosé at the Castello di Titignano estate vineyards.
