Bouvet Ladubay sources its fruit from more than 100 plots in the Loire Valley, obtaining the best quality at every harvest through its long-standing relationships with winegrowers. The limestone subsoil is ideal for the cultivation of Chenin Blanc, and the mild climate coupled with the excellent drainage of the clay creates the natural acidity needed to produce a balanced sparkling white wine. All grapes are hand harvested and spend a minimum of18 months on the lees. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The finest wines from each lot are blended and the cuvée is bottled for the second fermentation following the traditional method.

Harvest Note
Despite an attack of mildew in June, 2018 was largely a successful vintage in the Loire. Hot conditions created lower than average acid levels.
Tasting Note
This sparkling wine has pear, apple and floral notes on the nose. Fine bubbles effervesce on the palate offering lively peach, pear and green apple flavors. Fresh, elegant & balanced.
Food Pairing
Recommended with poultry dishes and freshwater fish dishes.

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
Chenin Blanc
Depending on the soils, Chenin Blanc can be lush, with stone fruit and pear characters; or quite dry, with green apple and beeswax notes.
