The 5-acre Constanza Vineyard in the Maule region was originally planted to Malbec in 1923. Warm days with cool nights and constant sea breezes ensures slow ripening for balanced and concentrated fruit. The vineyard is managed without any irrigation and allowing open canopy growth. This allows good ventilation and limits sun exposure which result in profuse and classic fruit aromas. Primary fermentation took place over 28 days. Aged for 12 months in new, medium toasted French oak barrels that belong to the "Icone Elegance" series from the famed Seguin Moreau cooperage. The wine contains only naturally occurring sulfites and is neither filtered nor clarified prior to bottling in order to preserve the wine's authentic character.
