Fruit for this wine comes from the organically dry-farmed Koosah Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Planted between 700-1100 feet, Koosah Vineyard sits on steep rocky slopes, in soil of richly layered volcanic basalt and sedimentary marine dating back 15 million years. At the winery, the wine is fermented in French oak barrels and concrete eggs and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.
