Barrua is the name of a vineyard in southwest Sardinia. The Sulcis region is dominated by Carignano, an indigenous grape known for its elegant and velvety tannins. Carignano is a sun-loving grape that thrives in the well-exposed brown earth composed of calcareous clay and sandy soil. Winters are mild and summers are hot and dry while the Mediterranean Sea regulates the heat.

Harvest Note
A dry winter was followed by a rainy fall that replenished soils. Summer 2022 was very hot, leading to early ripening. Harvest ran from mid-August to mid-October. Careful selection ensured high quality, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignano showing excellent texture. The final blend is balanced and promising.
Tasting Note
With a deep red ruby color, the wine displays clean; on the nose nice aromas of mature red fruits, wild herbs and spices. On the palate, the wine is soft and elegant, a unique blend of sage, myrtle, rosemary, vanilla flavors and fine tannins. Notes of red fruits, pepper and licorice add an interesting spicing, with a harmonious and persistent finish.
