This single acre parcel adjoins the famous Clos de Beze and exhibits many of the same characteristics. It is also home to the oldest pinot noir vines in the Jadot portfolio (90+ years) and the source of a particularly fine type of pinot which Jadot uses to propagate new vines as needed in other vineyards. Subsoils are red clay with small stones which warm early during the growing season and produce ripe and concentrated fruit.

Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
Initially closed then after some aeration a complex spectrum of aromas emerges, including damp earth and moss, rose petals, bing cherries, sandalwood and mocha. Substantial yet fine tannins make this dense and weighty on the palate while the brisk acidity keeps the impression lively. Ultimately this wine is an expression of balance and elegance within a large framework.
