This is a villages level red wine from the slopes of Monthelie, a satellite village near Volnay. Soils are thin with small stones. Recent climate changes are now creating conditions for perfectly ripe grapes. This formerly “rustic” village is now producing wines of surprising quality yet remain under the radar and relative values.
This is a medium-bodied red wine with dark berry fruit and damp earth initial nuances. Generous and silky on the palate there is a nice evolution on the palate with subtle spice notes over the long finish.
