This single acre parcel adjoins the famous Clos de Beze and exhibits many of the same characteristics. It is also home to the oldest pinot noir vines in the Jadot portfolio (90+ years) and the source of a particularly fine type of pinot which Jadot uses to propogate new vines as needed in other vineyards. Subsoils are red clay with small stones which warm early during the growing season and produce ripe and concentrated fruit.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
Initially closed then after some aeration a complex spectrum of aromas emerges, including damp earth and moss, rose petals, bing cherries, sandalwood and mocha. Substantial yet fine tannins make this dense and weighty on the palate while the brisk acidity keeps the impression lively. Ultimately this wine is an expression of balance and elegance within a large framework.
Food Pairing
Ideal with full-bodied and expressive meat dishes whether grilled or roasted. Also accompanies anything with truffles or mushrooms, or aged cheeses.
