Delamain’s Rare Casks have always been among a Cellar Master’s greatest responsibilities. Foreseeing potential and allowing the cognac to reach peak maturity are choices made for decades and generations into the future. These treasured legacies, bottled in their most natural form, bear the name Ancestral. Ancestral is bottled at cask strength, with no ageing reduction, that has occurred naturally with over half a century of maturation. As part of an approach of embracing maximum respect and minimal intervention, there are no added sugars or colors, and a low pressure filtration is used to preserve the exceptional characteristics of these rare old cognacs.

Tasting Note

Aromas of candied fruit, especially dried apricot, mingling with spices like nutmeg and cloves and a hint of autumnal forest floor. On the palate, rich apricot, creamy vanilla and cacao, with a layer of walnut, deep rancio, and a dash of aniseed freshness. Powerful, rounded, and full with an incredibly long finish.
