In 2008, Zak joined Domaine Carneros and continues to evolve his skill working alongside Founding Winemaker, Eileen Crane, and Pinot Noir Winemaker, TJ Evans.
Zak Miller came to Domaine Carneros after traveling the world exploring winemaking techniques. His interest in wine developed at a young age while touring Europe with his parents.
After receiving a B.S. in Forestry from Virginia Tech University, Zak's true calling was revealed on a trip to Napa Valley. “Visiting this beautiful valley where everyone is growing grapes and making extraordinary wines was an epiphany for me," says Zak. "By the middle of that first day, I knew this was where I was wanted to be and winemaking was what I was meant to do."
He became obsessed with the notoriously challenging Pinot Noir during his first harvest at Saintsbury Vineyards and journeyed to New Zealand and Chile to hone his craft. In 2008, Zak joined Domaine Carneros and continues to evolve his skill working alongside Founding Winemaker, Eileen Crane, and Pinot Noir Winemaker, TJ Evans.
What Zak loves most is creating wines that bring people pleasure. In his free time, he can be found savoring food and wine with family and friends, and relaxing with his wife and daughter.
