Turlò is a charming red blend that has been produced on the Salviano estate for more than 20 years. This wine finds its harmony in the delicacy of Sangiovese, in the strength of Merlot and in the intensity of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards consist of volcanic soils rich in texture and minerals. Harvest is done manually, and the grapes for Turlò are collected from the vineyards laying halfway up the hill, on the right bank of Corbara Lake.

Harvest Note
2020 registered a very dry and warm early spring; it followed a rainy period in May/June and a very hot and dry climate that went on until the end of the summer.
Tasting Note
Ruby in color with aromas of black fruit, wild berries, bay leaf and black pepper. Smooth on the palate with a medium body and a pleasant freshness, and soft tannins.

A soft, easy drinking red that pairs well with pizza and pasta dishes. Also with red meats like a grilled steak and pork.

About the Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is adaptable to various growing conditions, and is known for its low yield and late ripeness. It generally produces full-bodied wines with substantial acidity and tannins.
Merlot
Merlot makes plump, succulent wines to drink young or opulently massive wines for aging. Has silky, blackberry and currant fruit, with spice, earth, tobacco and chocolate notes, and soft tannins.
Sangiovese
Sangiovese has aromas of black cherries with alluring wood, smoke, tar and herbal notes. The best wines made from this grape have incredible complexity, depth, finesse and power.
