This wine was originally made in 1995 because a part of the land was well suited to red vines and Donna Nerina Corsini (Giovanni Incisa's mother) wanted to make a red wine to for home consumpion. This became the start of Turlò - an unconventional blend of grapes coming from the territory of the Corbara lake. The vineyards, located around the lake, at different altitudes, take an exceptional advantage from the climate of the lake.

Harvest Note
2021 registered a cold and rainy winter but also an unusual warm temperature in early spring interrupted by a few days of freezy climate: this caused a lower grape production but good in quality.
Tasting Note
A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Ruby in color with aromas of black fruit, wild berries, bay leaf and black pepper. Smooth on the palate with a medium body and a pleasant freshness, and soft tannins.

About the Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is adaptable to various growing conditions, and is known for its low yield and late ripeness. It generally produces full-bodied wines with substantial acidity and tannins.
Merlot
Merlot makes plump, succulent wines to drink young or opulently massive wines for aging. Has silky, blackberry and currant fruit, with spice, earth, tobacco and chocolate notes, and soft tannins.
Sangiovese
Sangiovese has aromas of black cherries with alluring wood, smoke, tar and herbal notes. The best wines made from this grape have incredible complexity, depth, finesse and power.
