Like the gravelly Graves region of Bordeaux, Friuli has gravel in the subsoil, which forces the roots of the vine to grow deep into the earth in search of water. As the vine struggles, its fruit grows richer, resulting in full, well-structured wine with remarkable minerality. Select grapes of optimum ripeness are gently pressed immediately after harvest and undergo a cold-temperature fermentation in stainless steel tanks. As there is no malolactic fermentation or oak aging, the finished wine is a beautifully pure expression of the Pinot Grigio grape.

Harvest Note
Winter 2019 was extraordinarily dry, with few rains, followed by a very hot March. The development of the flower during the first part of April was good with a hope for optimal production. May’s climate was characterized by rains and temperatures that were far below average, which slowed down development of the buds and clusters. Despite these adverse weather conditions, growth proceeded normally. Fortunately, at the end of May the hard rains ceased and the atmospheric temperatures increased, allowing flowering in optimal climatic conditions and giving rise to good fruit set, with smaller clusters. In July and August, very high temperatures and the absence of rain allowed the grapes to grow and retain excellent sugar content.
Tasting Note
Straw yellow in color with a fruity and floral aroma. Notes of bannana, pineapple and wisteria blossom play to the senses. The wine is dry and has great body and balance.
Food Pairing
This is the classic fish wine; excellent with risotto and vegetable soups; also pairs well with light white meats and sweet cheeses.
