Le Clos Blanc is a nearly 3 acre parcel at the foot of the slope within the larger Grèves premier cru. Subsoils here are deeper with more clay and well suited to chardonnay.

Harvest Note
The 2021 vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
Tasting Note
This white is notable for its consistent opulence and rich texture and length. Aromas include white flower, candied lemon, and damp earth. The wine is full-bodied and generous, with a long and graceful finish.
Food Pairing
This will suit seafood or chicken dishes with rich sauces, or ripe soft cheeses. Alternately, this will shine with simple grilled salmon or bass.

About the Grape

Chardonnay
Though it has a distinctive profile, Chardonnay reflects other factors such as soil composition and vinification technique. Chardonnay is a reliable, hardy and prolific vine whose only real vulnerabilities are frost and uneven development of fruit.
