In 2001, Alta Vista became the first Argentine winery to produce single vineyard wines. Alta Vista developed its Terroir Management® system for wine growing and winemaking, wherein grapes grown in distinctive sites express the true characteristics of each vineyard through distinctive wines. These vineyards, located in Luján de Cuyo, were planted in 1935. This terroir has great thermal amplitude and there is almost no risk of frost. The climate is dry and soil is clay-loam, deep with pebbles 13 feet from the surface. Irrigation is traditional, with water from the Andes Mountains and groundwater. he selection massale vines are simple Guyot pruned and produce medium-sized clusters, with loose and fine grains.

Harvest Note
Grapes from all parcels were hand picked during the first fifteen days of April ,carried to the winery in boxes to prevent them from breaking and refrigerated for 24 hours. Hand sorted and destemmed, the juice was gravity fed into small concrete tanks and spontaneously fermented by the native yeasts of our terroir. During fermentation, regular punch downs and pump overs are done to improve aroma, color and tannin extractions. Vatting lasted 28 days. Pomace was separated from the new wine using a vertical basket press. Malolactic fermentation occurred spontaneously in tanks and then the barrels were filled to begin the aging process.
Tasting Note
Fruit forward with notes of plum and blackcurrant. Sweet aroma of vanilla and butter with hints of spicy star anise. Full bodied with a tannic grip. Decanting is recommended. Perfect drinking temperature is 61 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Can be cellared for more than 8 years.
