Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the five villages of the Côte de Blancs. Premier Cru vineyards face east and southeast, and the Chardonnay grapes are grown in soils of brown clay and limestone. Les Caillerets is located in the northern end of the commune at elevations of 250 to 350 meters, with exposures ranging from east to south and southwest. The Chardonnay is fermented in oak barrels, and then matured in barrel for 12 to 15 months.
This powerful, full-bodied wine has almond, apple, peach, spice and truffle aromas. It will develop favorably in the bottle for 10 to 15 years.
