A classic since 1950, Parallèle 45 is the oldest Côtes du Rhône brand still in existence. Parallèle 45 is named after the 45th parallel, a famous circle of latitude that passes over the cellars of Paul Jaboulet Aîné. It is known as the “Latitude of Great Wines”, crossing over Willamette Valley in Oregon, Bordeaux in France, Piedmont in Italy, and of course the Rhône Valley in France. The grapes for Parallèle 45 are farmed organically. They grow on 40-year-old vines in clayey limestone and alluvial deposits composed of round pebbles. The grapes are destemmed, crushed, and the juice undergoes fermentation. The wine is then aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats.

Harvest Note
An exceptionally mild and dry winter was followed by a spring with abundant rainfall, replenishing water reserves. Budburst, which occurred very early due to high temperatures, was slowed down by a cool and humid May, aligning flowering with the previous year. The summer was a mix of heat and humidity, with véraison beginning in early August. Despite a high risk of mildew in the spring, the vines developed without water stress. The summer warmth allowed for a rapid and even ripening of the grapes.
