Domaine Louis Jadot owns one acre of this prestigious Grand Cru vineyard whose name is appended to the village of Chambolle. Musigny wines are collectable and rare, prized for a sublime elegance as well as aging potential.
Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
Musigny combines a supple texture with richness, ripe tannins, and a long persistence. Impressions of violets, rose, and raspberry are all apparent and with age more subtle earth notes emerge. This is one of the world's great red wines.
