La Fuga is in the region of Montalcino, whose borders delineate the zone of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The vineyards are situated at 400 meters in elevation southwest of the town of Montalcino. The region’s vineyards are sheltered by Mount Amiata and kept dry by sea breezes from across the hills to the west. Densely planted vineyards produce low average yields, allowing wines with concentration, complexity and considerable aging potential. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, then the wine is macerated in steel vats before malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks and in bottle before release

Harvest Note
Winter was characterized by an average rainfall and some snow which filled the water scarcity. In April, there were sporadic rains and minimum temperatures which suddenly increased starting from the middle of the month. In May, frequent and abundant rainfall and high temperatures allowed for optimal vegetative development of the grapes. Flowering started in the final days of the month. June and July stood out for their high temperatures which accelerated the ripening of the grapes, while August and September alternated good weather with rainy days until the time of harvest which took place around mid-September, with grapes that appeared to be in excellent health.
Tasting Note
Very complex and fine aromas that delicately and constantly come out and increase.  On the palate this wine is balanced, austere and powerful with a very persistent finish and soft tannins.
Food Pairing
Meat, game and aged cheeses.
