Gewurztraminer is rare on the Rangen. Its presence is mainly concentrated on the lower part of the vineyard, where it benefits from the influence of the river and is more sheltered from the cold winds sweeping down the valley. The power of the volcanic terroir gives this grape variety a mineral richness and above all manages to dominate its exuberance. The 2023 was able to ferment very quickly dry and was aged on total lees until bottling 11 months after harvest.

Harvest Note
The 2024 vintage will certainly be remembered as an unusual one which defied climate change. Rainfall was 30% to 50% above average and extremely high temperatures were largely avoided. Well-drained soils were key to achieving consistent fermentations.
Tasting Note
Still discreet and restrained, the nose reveals an aromatic palette blending ripe fruit and gunflint. This complex profile, bordering on austerity, is actually welcome in this grape variety.
