Clos Windsbuhl is one of the beautiful terroirs in the magnificent commune of Hunawihr. It enjoys a late climate, perched high and close to the Vosges forest. This wine was the last to be harvested in 2024. This late character, combined with the Muschelkalk limestone (shell limestone), is the source of the structure and exceptional delicacy of the wines produced from this vineyard.

2024 vintage
Harvest Note
The 2024 vintage will certainly be remembered as an unusual one which defied climate change. Rainfall was 30% to 50% above average and extremely high temperatures were largely avoided. Well-drained soils were key to achieving consistent fermentations.
Tasting Note
The nose is beautifully expressive and reflects a lovely physiological maturity with aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and roasted notes. This wine is very dry, but remains elegant and harmonious on the palate.

About the Grape

Gewürztraminer
Gewürztraminer has unmistakably heady intensity of fragrance, with pungent aromas of litchis, tropical fruits and rose petals. Its flavors are ample, fruity and spicy rather than complex.
