Domaine de Roure is a vineyard purchased by Paul Jaboulet Aîné from the Roure family in 1996. It is one of the oldest estates in the appellation. Located in the commune of Gervans in the north of Tain l’Hermitage, this estate has a beautiful valley with incredible biodiversity. Jaboulet has founded its second nature preserve here.

The Marsanne vines are planted on South-facing slopes in deep soil of white earth and loess. The vines are between 25 and 80 years old. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed as whole bunches. After settling, the juice is fermented in concrete eggs and demi-muids. The wine then ages on the lees for 3 months in the same containers.

Harvest Note

The 2021 vintage had a mild winter with an early spring. The early development of vegetation slowed as the temperatures dropped in April. The spring was cool and May had abundant rainfall. Flowering took place rapidly and in good conditions. The summer was also very wet with temperatures below normal, resulting in a delay of veraison and slower maturation. The harvest resulted in grapes with good balance and aromas.

Tasting Note

Pale blonde in color, this well-structured white wine has aromas of honey, white peach, and almonds with floral notes and a fresh minerality

Food Pairing

Millefeuille of foie gras
