Puligny-Montrachet shares with its neighbor Chassagne-Montrachet some of the finest white wine vineyards in the world. This commune’s Premier Cru vineyards stretch across the upper half of the Puligny slope, from Meursault to Chassagne. Les Perrières is located near the Premiers Crus of Les Referts and Les Combettes on medium-density, chalky soil that both drains and heats easily. In winemaking, the Chardonnay grapes are fermented and matured in oak barrels for an average of 18 months before bottling.
With a round structure and aromas and flavors of honey, fern and amber, this wine is very expressive of its terroir. It will develop in the bottle for 10 to 15 years.
