The commune of Pommard produces only red wines, and has no Grands Crus. Les Epenots consists of two parcels named Les Petits Epenots and Les Grands Epenots, situated in the north of the commune on 62 acres. Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in tanks for up to 4 weeks, then the wine is matured for 12 to 15 months in oak barrels before bottling.
A rich, masculine wine typical of Pommard. It should be cellared for at least 5 years before opening and is capable of developing in the bottle for 20 to 25 years.
