Craggy Range has for the first time been named the Best Vineyard in Australasia for 2021 by World’s Best Vineyard’s.

While Craggy Range has made the World’s Best Vineyards Top 50 list the last three years since the list was first published, it is the first time being awarded best in Australasia. Coming in at 11th on the list, puts Craggy Range alongside some of the world’s most respected wineries including Château Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Margaux of Bordeaux, Penfolds of Australia, Opus One of Napa Valley & Champagne Taittinger to name a few.

Craggy Range Director, Mary-Jeanne Peabody commented “It is incredibly humbling to be named the Best Vineyard in Australasia, especially considering the breadth and depth of stunning estates scattered across New Zealand and Australia. It is my parent’s dream to sit alongside the great wineries of the world, and this shows us that we are heading in the right direction”.

World’s Best Vineyard Founder, Andrew Reed said: “Wine is produced in almost 60 countries around the world and is hugely important to many national economies. The World’s Best Vineyards not only highlights these amazing destinations, but it also helps raise their profile amongst national and international tourists alike. In an age where the next generation is looking for extraordinary and authentic experiences, these wineries are simply a must-visit!”

Craggy Range Marketing Manager David T. Peabody commented “There are many awards in the wine industry, however what makes this special is that it is not about a single wine in a particular year, this is about consistently being recognized as world class. This is not something you enter; the final list is a culmination of experts from all over the world voting.”

“The last twelve months has presented us with a variety of challenges, however it did allow us some time to refocus on a few exciting projects we had underway including our biodiversity program which has seen us work to plant 100 hectares of native trees in the vineyard. This award is really special for the team and signifies that we are on the right path.”
