Expression

Together with Macabeo and Xarel-lo, Parellada is a part of the blend of Cava, Spain’s traditional method sparkling wine. The best Cavas are crisp, lemony and mineral.

Growing Conditions

Parellada has a tendency to overcrop when planted in fertile soil. For fine Cava, the vine is grown in the cooler high limestone terrain above the Penedès valley near Barcelona.

Origin and History

Parellada is native to the Catalan region of Spain.
