Saint-Romain is located in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune, in a valley West of Volnay beneath a series of imposing rock faces. This location results in a naturally cooler terroir and consequently a longer ripening cycle. Chardonnay here is typically racy and vibrant, producing white wines which are refreshing and easy to drink soon after the vintage.

Tasting Note

Tangy with bright citrus notes and vibrant acidity initially, this medium-bodied white wine recalls echos of the famous nearby appellation of Meursault yet in a naturally sleek framework. The finish is long and dry, any oak influence is quite subtle, and the focus throughout remains on lemon pith, white flowers and damp stony earth.
